Hello Bear Buck Forest - Yes Please!

This time last week we took delivery of this stunning 'Buck Forest' fabric from Art Gallery Fabrics and what a response we've had! I love the colours and the stark nature of the stag silhouetted against the neutral background tones.

Soon after its arrival, a lovely customer asked whether it might be feasible for me to make her some cushions using the 'mist' (grey background) version of the design. I just couldn't resist saying yes, knowing how lovely this fabric would be when made into cushions...... so heres' the result. Two piped cushions (using Kona Cotton Solids - Snow), and two featuring some cute mini pom pom trim in cream.

What do you think, piping or pom poms? Which one works best? I'm torn - but love the results. This fabric is fab-u-lous!

Happy weekends and happy sewing!

Vintage Market by Tasha Noel - Riley Blake

Having been a huge fan of Tasha Noel's designs for some time now, I can only say I was delighted last week, when the delivery of her latest collection arrived here at Poppies & Polka Dots.

Vintage Market does not disappoint, the cute characters that we have become used to from Tasha Noel; this time are featured as part of a vintage market place or cycling home with a basket of flowers. Combine these with pretty florals and garlands of strawberries, makes for a wonderful and fun collection that we are completely smitten with!

Dotty over Dashwood Studios Flurry

I had been planning on adding some more Dashwood Studios Flurry colours to the Poppies & Polka Dots collection for some time now and yesterday I was lucky enough to visit the Dashwood Studios HQ. It is hard to resist almost all of their designs and I was very excited to see first hand the greatly anticipated Nature Trail collection as well as the wonderful 'Bloom', which is due for delivery in the UK in early Autumn.

It seems Dashwood can barely put a foot wrong at the moment, it is genuinely fantastic to see a UK based textile design company doing so well.
I for one, can't wait for the next new arrivals from them and in the meantime am very excited to now have 17 of the Flurry colours available in the shop!
